Membership to SBBV:

SBBV Membership is not automatic upon receipt of your application & payment and is subject to approval by our executive board.  You can be allowed to assist in fire fighting and the prevention of fires only after your successful application, completion of the relevant training and obtaining the correct protective gear.  You should purchase the correct protective gear only after your acceptance as a member and completion of the training.  We have a responsibility to not waste our funds since we receive a lot of it from our communities and can't risk breaking or damaging our specialised equipment through improper usage.

SBBV membership is categorised as follows:

  • Active members - Members actively involved in receiving & giving training, fire fighting and the prevention of fires.  The annual cost for this membership is R150.00.
  • Non-active members - Members not actively involved in the fighting of fires but will still benefit from joining SBBV.  The annual cost for this membership is R250.00 with a once-off admin fee of R100.00.
  • Corporate members - Businesses can register with SBBV as corporate members and will enjoy the benefits of being a member regarding fires on their premises.  The annual cost for this membership will be determined upon application and will depend on the size of the premises of the business and the type of business.

Please download the following forms and email it completed to members@sbbv.co.za along with a copy of your ID.
